Sinclair HVAC & Plumbing Safety Tips from Beth Sinclair

daylight savings image

Hello everyone! Just a friendly reminder that daylight savings time ends this weekend. This means that it is time to “fall back” and change the time back one hour.  Another fun tip that I’d like to share is that I always check and/or change the batteries in my smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors when the time change occurs.  This is so important because if you do not have your furnace checked out by one of our professionals, how do you know your heating system is operating safely?

What does a furnace repair and check consist of? (Not the same for electric air handlers)  One of our technicians will look inside the heat exchanger and check for cracks.  This is very important because a crack in the heat exchanger is the main cause for carbon monoxide.  If the exchanger compartments are dirty, he will vacuum it out so the unit burns more efficiently.  He will also visually check all other compartments of the furnace to make sure it has no chance of breaking down.  The last step the technician performs is the most important and that is checking for carbon monoxide.  All of our technicians come equipped with carbon monoxide detectors on their trucks, so that you know exactly what your system is blowing into your home.  I could only hit the hight points for this blog, if you want more information go to the help page or call.

Since winter is rapidly approaching Lubbock, do not forget to have your heating system checked by our certified technicians.  Go to our contact page and sign up for a furnace repair and check today.  Or call 806-749-COOL (2665).
